Step 1: Plan Your Custom GPT’s Role and Abilities

Before building, define:

  • Name (e.g., “DOC-KIU Jaime” or “AI Jaime”)
  • Jaime actually is my assistant, holding an MFA form USC and PhD from Columbia, I am now create a custom Chatbot to replace Jaime.
  • Target Users: You and your students
  • Core functions:
    • Story development (e.g., character arcs, plot structure)
    • Formatting screenplays
    • Feedback and revision suggestions
    • Brainstorming genres/themes
    • Teaching screenwriting concepts

Step 2: Set Up Your Custom GPT

  1. Go to chat.openai.com
  2. Click your name or profile icon (bottom-left)
  3. Choose “Explore GPTs”
  4. Click “Create a GPT” (top right)

Now you’ll be in the GPT Builder.
